Heart language · “How”
The transfers you don’t control
Taking on a leadership position brings a range of transfers you never signed up for and cannot fully control. For better or for worse, you will be unconsciously associated with paternal and maternal images long before anyone has judged whether you deserve it. That is simply how groups work, and Secret 9 starts from that fact rather than pretending it away.
A real team is not a pleasant coincidence. It is what happens when the members trust each other and hold themselves mutually accountable for how they perform — the old sailors’ law, one for all and all for one, applied to a workplace instead of a boat.
“You belong to a real team when the members trust each other and hold themselves mutually accountable for their performance.”
